What Bra Should I Wear With This?

Match the bra to the outfit's neckline, back and fabric. A deep V needs a plunge bra, an open back a low-back or adhesive bra, off-shoulder and strapless a strapless bra, racerback and halter convertible straps, and anything white or sheer a smooth bra close to your skin tone. Upload the outfit and the AI reads all of that for you.

The question usually comes up the night before: the dress is on the bed, the event is tomorrow, and every bra you own shows somewhere. A strap at the shoulder, a band across an open back, a line through a white shirt. The answer depends on a handful of things about the outfit, and most guides leave you to work them out from a page of neckline diagrams. This reads them from a photo instead. Upload the outfit, worn or laid flat, and the AI looks at the neckline, the back, where the straps fall and how sheer or clingy the fabric is, then tells you which bra to wear and in what color. If you are wearing it in the photo, upload only photos of yourself, and only if you are 18 or over.

How the Outfit Bra Finder Tool Works

The AI checks five things in order. The neckline: a deep V or plunge needs a bra with a low centre, while a crew or high neck can take almost anything. The back: an open, low or cut-out back rules out an ordinary band. The straps and shoulders: off-shoulder, one-shoulder and strapless outfits need a strapless bra, and racerback, halter and cross-back tops need straps that can be rerouted. The fabric: thin, clingy or knit fabric shows seams and lace, so it calls for a smooth moulded cup. And the color: white and sheer fabrics show any bra that contrasts with your skin, white ones included, so the answer there is a shade close to your skin tone.

You get one recommended style, one alternative and a color, along with the feature of the outfit that decided it.

Getting the Most Accurate Result from the Outfit Bra Finder Tool

A clear photo of the outfit you want to wear, either on you or laid flat or on a hanger. Show the whole top half: the neckline and both shoulders. If the back is open, low or cut out, add a photo of the back too. Natural light shows how sheer the fabric is far better than a flash. If you are wearing the outfit, upload a photo of yourself only, fully dressed in it.

Outfit Bra Finder Tool Accuracy & Limitations

A photo shows an outfit well, and this tool is only about the outfit. What it cannot tell is how a bra fits you, how much support you need, or whether a particular strapless bra will stay up on your frame, and those decide whether its suggestion works in practice. If the back or a shoulder is out of frame, it will say so and ask for another photo rather than guess.

Lighting changes how sheer fabric looks. A dress that seems opaque in a dim room can be see-through in daylight or under a camera flash, so if you are unsure, treat it as sheer.

The Story Behind the Outfit Bra Finder Tool

Most of the work is in two features: the neckline and the back. Everything else is a refinement.

The color rule is the one people least expect. A white bra under a white shirt shows more than a beige one, because the shirt is not fully opaque and the bra reads as a brighter shape against your skin. The shade that disappears is the one closest to your skin tone, which is why nude ranges now come in more than one shade.

Strapless bras are where size matters most. With no straps to share the load, the band does all of the work, and many fitters suggest a band size firmer than your everyday bra. If you are not sure what that everyday size is, start with the bra size calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions

A low-back converter strap, which hooks onto an everyday bra and drops the band below the open back, or an adhesive bra if the back is open all the way down. If the dress is also strapless, a strapless bra with a low back or an adhesive bra are the options.

A strapless bra with a silicone-lined band, or a convertible bra with the straps taken off. Because the band does all the work in a strapless bra, it should fit firmer than your everyday bra, often a band size down.

A smooth, seamless bra in a shade close to your skin tone, not white. A white bra shows as a brighter shape through white fabric, while a shade near your skin tone disappears.

A plunge bra, whose centre gore sits low enough to stay hidden at the bottom of the V. For a V that runs very deep, an adhesive bra is the alternative.

Yes. A photo of the outfit laid flat, on a hanger, or a product photo of the garment works as well as one of you wearing it. Show the neckline and both shoulders, and add the back if it is open.

No, it tells you which style and color to wear. For your size, use the Bra Size Calculator with two tape measurements, or the Bra Size Guesser for a quick estimate from a photo.
